The Hektoen Institute of Medicine maintains a close working relationship with the Department of Medical Education at the University of Illinois-Chicago. In the Department of Medical Education at UIC, we work with Associate Professor, Sandy Sufian PhD, MPH who is responsible for teaching medical humanities and medical history to the medical students of UIC medical school. In cooperation with Hektoen, The Department of Medical Education has been involved in sponsoring and arranging lectures on historical and sociological aspects of medicine. Programs take place either at Hektoen, UIC, or at Stroger Hospital.
