BREAST CANCER PREVENTION AND SCREENING PROGRAMS
Hektoen currently manages two programs which support Breast Cancer Prevention and high-risk screening to the underserved women at Stroger Hospital. Both programs are led by Pamela Ganschow, MD.
- Avon Foundation continues to provide support for high-risk breast cancer screening at Stroger Hospital. The program provides risk assessment and genetic counseling; genetic testing to family members of breast cancer patients who are assessed to be high-risk for hereditary breast cancer; access to clinical trials and support to develop an evaluation and quality improvement component to the cancer risk program.
- Susan G. Komen Foundation provides support for Breast Cancer Risk and Prevention Program. The program will provide risk assessment, genetic counseling and testing, and access to clinical trials.
