Rate Hektoen uses to calculate indirect costs:

  • 38% of salaries and wages for federal funders, effective September 1, 2009
  • 10-20% of total costs for local and state agency funders
  • 25% of total costs for pharmaceutical research
  • 12% of total costs for pharmaceutical funded patient education.

 

Current fringe benefit rate for staff employed by Hektoen:

Effective September 1, 2009 the fringe rate for full-time employees is 38% of the salary requested. This includes Social Security, Medicare, Workmen’s Compensation and Unemployment insurance plus health and dental insurance, long/short term disability insurance, retirement plan and life insurance.

If an employee is less than 80% FTE, then the fringe rate is 19% inclusive of social security, medicare, worker’s comp, unemployment insurance, disability insurance and eligible for the retirement plan if employed 50% - 79% FTE.

Mileage Rate:

  • $0.50/mile for City, State and Federal Grants; per the GSA (General Services Administration) rate effective January 1st, 2010.

Per Diem Rate:

  • $57/day unless specified by the funder.
